Nigel Clibbens, Finance & Leasing Association chairman, has joined The Car Finance Company (TCFC) as chief financial officer.

He has joined from RBS’s asset finance arm, Lombard, where he spent over 20 years. His last role at Lombard was as chief operating officer.

Mark Smith, managing director and founder of TCFC, said he was delighted Clibbens had joined, and said the move was a ‘big deal’ for the company.

Clibbens said: "TCFC demonstrates that understanding customer needs and putting them at the heart of the business strategy is a key factor in success. This mantra is exactly how the regulator expects financial institutions to operate and I look forward to the challenges ahead".
