Arval reaches 100,000 UK fleet vehicles

BNP’s fleet arm Arval has reached 100,000 funded vehicles in the UK for the first time.

Benoit Dilly, managing director of Arval UK said: "Since I joined Arval just over a year ago we have had a clear growth strategy, underpinned by a focus on customer service and the development of our employees. Moving past this milestone is testament to the strides that our teams have made in supporting existing customers and attracting new ones."

The 100,000th vehicle was a Vauxhall Vivaro van to national home assistance company Homeservice.

The technology will provide full video footage and images of end of contract inspections and any damage found. This will be viewable to customers on their mobile devise, and Lex claim this will go beyond BVRLA standards used across the industry.

Lex’s pricing structure around damage types will be made available to customers before their contract expires, and invoicing for damage and movement will be automated.

Information for the customers will be available through Lex’s Lai information portal, which features a dedicated End of Contract area.

Telefonica and Geotab’s European project

Telecomms company Telefónica and m2m fleet transport telematics technology provider Geotab have agreed to partner in Europe, initially focussing in Spain, Germany and the UK.

Telefónica runs a machine to machine (m2m) business, which will now offer a solution including Geotab’s plug-and-play device, will offer real time fleet management and the ability to develop a number of alerts, notifications, and review driver trip and activity reports.
