Motor group Cox Automotive has recruited Philip Nothard to head its external relations team.

In the newly created role, Northard will be working alongside Gwen Allen, head of communications and PR.

Nothard is perhaps best known for his time at cap hpi, where he spent over seven years as Black Book editor on the retail and consumer side. Overall he has over 30 years’ experience in the motor industry.

Nothard said: “I am exceptionally pleased and excited to be joining Cox Automotive. It is an organisation with endless potential and opportunities in the UK automotive sector.

“I am looking forward to building on its industry-leading reputation and exploring opportunities to enhance insight, intelligence and thought leadership, by using the wealth of data available within Cox Automotive.”

Nothard’s new position will see him work across all of Cox Automotive’s brands, which include Manheim, Dealer Auction, Modix, Xtime, Motors.co.uk and NextGear Capital.
