US brand Chevrolet has extended its UK consumer offer of 0% APR representative finance over five years, including an insurance package, on new registrations to 31 December.

The deal, begun in August and run through Santander Consumer Finance, is available on the Spark, Aveo, Cruze (all three body styles), Orlando and Captiva models, but not the Volt, Camaro or Corvette.

A spokesperson for the brand told Motor Finance the August sales campaign was a “tremendous success,” although new registrations were down year-on-year for the month by 27.81% to 353 units, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The insurance package on the five models includes five years or 10,000 miles warranty and roadside assistance supplied by the AA. Additionally, any customer taking one of the models for a test drive will receive a free Tastecard, which provides reduced dining prices for holders.

Retailing and training

The supply of Chevrolet finance by Santander is similar to the situation at GM stable mate Vauxhall, which has allowed Santander and GMAC to both offer its 0% Flexible Finance deal.

Both Chevrolet and Vauxhall have other finance schemes provided by GMAC, the trading style of Ally Financial which is subject to a bid to be reacquired by GM.

Chevrolet dealers are also eligible for three training programmes run by GMAC UK through the GM Academy and recently commended by qualification awards body IMI Awards.
