Kia Motors UK is predicting total new registrations of 65,000 units this year, and hopes to capitalise on the brand’s success by opening West London retail facility in 2014.

November figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders confirmed 62, 739 new Kia cars have been sold year-to-date, already surpassing the 2011 total of 53,615 and 2010 total of 56,114, while Motor Finance reported dealer staff were upbeat on forecourt performances in September for both sales and finance.

The manufacturer, whose finance is handled through Hyundai and Santander Consumer finance’s joint venture Hyundai Capital UK, will submit a planning application for a fully-integrated, four-story motor dealership of approximately 41,237 sq ft, on a 1.1 acre site at the junction of the A4 and M4 in Brentford.

The plot lies on one of the capital’s main thoroughfares from Heathrow Airport to the Chiswick Roundabout, and central London beyond, and is already used by Audi, Toyota and others as a dealership pitch.

Simon Hetherington, head of dealer development at Kia Motors, said: "Having such a large and prominent dealership in this key London area will highlight to passing motorists and consumers that Kia Motors is definitely not slowing down."
