TUSKER
Major public sector
salary sacrifice deal
Fleet company Tusker has signed a
deal with North Yorkshire County Council to provide a salary
sacrifice scheme, which will be open initially to 30,000
employees.
The scheme will run for four years, Tusker said,
and will form part of the council’s flexible benefits package.
Tusker beat 14 other leasing company competitors to win the tender,
the council said.
Vehicles with emissions of 120g/km of CO2 and below
are available through the scheme, “in line with the council’s
environmental policy,” Tusker said. It is expected that 500 car
orders will be placed through the scheme in its first year of
operation.
In addition, the fleet company has won a place on a
pan-government collaborative framework agreement as an approved
salary sacrifice provider, meaning its SalarySacrifice4Cars (SS4C)
product could soon be available to all contracting public sector
authorities.
LOMBARD
Large LCV deal
inked
Lombard Vehicle Management (LVM) has
been selected by national lawn treatment business GreenThumb to
fund and supply a fleet of 800 vans on exclusive basis.
Around 230 vehicles are to be delivered this year
and run on contract hire, mainly over three years and 45,000 miles.
The new vans, VW Caddy Maxi 1.9 TDIs, are expected to reduce fuel
consumption by 15 percent and CO2 emissions by 25 percent over the
existing fleet.
LEASEDRIVE
VELO
New contract and
extension for lessor
Leasedrive Velo has announced two fleet
deals – one an extension to an existing contract, with technology
and outsourcing company Capgemini, and one a contract with a new
client, accountancy firm BDO UK.
The Capgemini extension, for two years, covers 800
current and 3,500 eligible company car drivers in a salary
sacrifice scheme, and Leasedrive Velo recently added another eight
manufacturers to employee choice lists.
The BDO award win means that Leasedrive Velo will
provide contract hire for around 200 of the firm’s partners in the
UK, with no restrictions on vehicle choice.
