The first ever borderless European online used car retailer, Driverama launched today, in hopes of delivering a “superior bricks and clicks operating model” to customers across the continent.
Part of used car retailer Aures holdings, Driverama will initially launch out of Germany with a range of over 5000 cars, before expanding into 11 other countries by 2025.
Aures has channelled significant investment into Driverama, contributing €75m to the tech platform and €32.5m in the broader company.
In hopes of becoming the principal European online used car retailer by 2025, a further €100m of investment is planned over the next year in order to bolster the roll out, with an additional €400m in follow-up investment.
Commenting on the launch, Stanislav Galik, Co-CEO of Driverama, said: “We are tremendously excited about the launch of Driverama, the culmination of millions of Euros of investment, innovation, testing and constant refinement to ensure we have a laser-focus on delivering a truly seamless end-to-end customer experience for those selling or buying a used car in Europe.”
Driverama will benefit from Aures Network of 45 sites and preparation centres across Europe. With over €700m in revenue, and managing more than €2.5m customers, Aures boasts 30 years’ experience of cars.
Galik continued: “We are confident that we have the best tech capabilities, and our ambition is to become the only truly pan-European online used car retailer by 2025.
Over the next two years, Driverama customers will be able to buy and sell cars anywhere in Europe through live data and pricing differences from country to country.
Recognising Driverama’s advantage, Tony Denny, Founder of Aures Holdings, highlighted that the firm was not starting from a blank canvas: “Unlike other new online-first entrants, the Driverama team have real life experience of selling used cars profitably and already have the physical infrastructure in place to deliver a winning, genuinely omni-channel proposition.”
By 2025, several online used car trading platforms are expected to attempt to penetrate the European market. According to Deny, the battle for market share will “be won on the back of consistent and quality real life automotive processes that are scalable.”
Denny concluded: “Having served 2.5m customers, Aures certainly does understand the best scalable automotive practices and we are confident that this experience and insight will ultimately enable Driverama to achieve market share dominance across Europe.”
