Car registrations in Europe were up 4.5% in June compared to the same period in 2013, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).
Among the major markets, Germany was the only one to witness a contraction of 1.9%. France grew 2.5%, Italy 3.8%, and both the UK (6.2%) and Spain (23.9%) also performed well, contributing to the overall growth of 4.5% in the region.

Despite the results marking the continuation of a ten-month upward trend, at 1,189,143 units, registrations were at their second lowest level for June since the series began in 2003.
Demand for new passenger cars between January and June totalled 6,622,996, up 6.5% compared to the first half of 2013.
Spain registered the highest levels of growth for the six-month period at 17.8%, followed by the UK at 10.6%, Italy at 3.3%, France at 2.9% and Germany trailing at 2.4%.
