Czech car maker koda has announced it sold 247,200 vehicles during the first three months of 2014, setting a new record in the company’s history and marking a 12.1% increase on 2013 numbers for the same period.
The figures marked a 12.1% increase on last year’s numbers and heralded record revenue levels of 2.99bn (£2.46bn), a 23.7% increase on 2012 first quarter figures.
Winfried Vahland, chief executive officer of koda, attributed the "excellent" start to the year to the company’s model campaign.

Sales increased significantly compared to the same period in 2013, growing year-on-year by 16.5% to 80,900 in January and by 14,6% to 96,100 in March.
Winfried Krause, chief financial officer of koda said: "koda continued on the road of profitable growth during the first quarter.
