The partnership was announced at Halfords’ annual conference earlier this month and will involve the help of more than 1,800 of its employees who will work with BEN’s regional support network.

Halfords has already designed a website to raise funds and a voluntary salary-sacrifice scheme to encourage its staff and ensure good use of money collected.

Peter Cottle, head of business development for BEN, said: "Partnering with such a strong and respected brand is very exciting and we are looking forward to raising awareness of how BEN can help colleagues in time of need".
