Payments on the Korando S start at £239 a month, with APR at 9.8%, rising to £299 a month on the EX, with APR at 9.6%. All four models come with a £2,000 deposit contribution and five years’ unlimited mileage warranty.

SsangYong started the year with a flurry of franchised dealership openings, among which the brand announced in February that GMAC would supply both wholesale and retail finance for the marque in the UK.

Paul Williams, chief executive of the brand in the UK, told Motor Finance magazine in April the aim was to post 2,500 new registrations in 2012. According to year-to-November figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturer and Traders, the company has registered 810 new car sales, still up, massively, on the 143 registrations in 2011.

MG, another brand now operating through GMAC, has also recently announced it expects to sell 65% of its MG6 model in the fleet and business market.
