Peter Landers has joined international
consultancy Grant Thornton as a director specialising in the
provision of financial and strategic advisory services in UK
consumer finance, with a “significant” focus on motor finance,
given Landers’ background in the sector, according to his team.
Previous to the Grant Thornton appointment,
Landers has previous experience with the Bank of Scotland in
Ireland as head of motor and asset finance, and at HBOS where he
was head of retail sales in Ireland. He also spent five years as
general manager of the UK motor division of Associates Capital
Corporation.

Christian Roelofs has also been promoted to
director at Grant Thornton as part of the firm’s ambition to grow
its leasing and consumer finance work, in which
Roelofs had been an associate director since August 2011, in
the UK and Europe.
Furthermore,
Phil Gerrard has been appointed as a director, alongside
Roelofs and Landers, specialising in financial and operational
advisory, re-structuring and recovery services to the continental
leasing market.
The company commented that all three
appointments reflected the commitment Grant Thornton was making to
build the experience of its London-based team and its European
advisory practice.
