The BEN Summer Fete and Paul Finn Vintage and
Classic Car Rally took place in glorious sunshine last weekend at
Lynwood, the residential complex in Ascot run by BEN, the
automotive industry charity.

Brian Blessed was a VIP guest at the event,
which offered a range of entertainment, including bowling, stalls
selling books and beauty products, raffles and the steel band Star
Rhapsody. Guests also had the opportunity to pose for photos with
the Barclays Premier League trophy.

BEN’s head of marketing Ray Diggins said, “The
Paul Finn Vintage Rally and Lynwood Summer Fete are a highlight of
the summer calendar. We are delighted that everyone who took part
had such a good time and that we raised such an impressive amount
of money is a fabulous bonus.

“We would like to thank our headline sponsors,
Camberley Auto Factors, for their invaluable support. And, of
course, our special guest of honour Brian Blessed who gave so
generously of his time.”

National BEN Week takes place from 18 to 24
July to celebrate BEN’s 106th birthday and the charity
asks all the companies that support it to raise £106 to help it to
continue to provide care, support and advice. This year’s
celebration again has a beach theme ‘Hit the beach for BEN’.

BEN’s events manager Kelly Neal said: “Over
the past few years, the beach theme for National BEN Week has been
an overwhelming success with so many of our supporting companies
coming up with some hilarious and inventive ways of raising money.
We can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year – please
keep us posted and we’ll shout about what you are doing for
us.”
