Barrow-Starkey comes from two years heading the group’s retailer learning services division, training apprentices and qualifying staff for VW’s UK network. He joined the VW group in 2011, as head of sales operations for Skoda. Prior to that, he held roles in Carillion and French rolling stock producer Alstom.

In his new position, Barrow-Starkey will be tasked with implementing the demonstrator and business centre contracts, as well as liaising with VW’s fleet teams. He will report to Alistair Shields, group commercial services director.

Shields said: “I’m very happy to welcome Martin to the Group Fleet Services team at this exciting time for the business. He will be building on Patrick’s great work, and I’m looking forward to seeing the successful development of this key element of our UK operations.”
