Prior to that, he held tax-related roles within accountancies Grant Thornton and EY, as well as for publisher Informa, a constituent of the FTSE 100.

De La Rue will report to RMS UK head of automotive Alison Ashley, targeting clients in the motor dealership sector and other organizations.

Ashley joined two years ago, bringing two decades’ worth of experience to the company, including 12 years at PwC. At the time, she said she would focus on firms restructuring in the automotive sector.

Ashley said: “Robert’s appointment enhances our automotive practice and is a significant move for us as we look to expand our national capability. He brings a wealth of automotive experience to the role and is well placed to add real value to our growing portfolio of motor clients.”
