He joined Advantage as a key account manager 13 years ago, and prior to that was involved with major motor retailers including Volvo and Honda dealerships.

In his role of national sales director at SMF, McGuire will provide support for existing SMF brokers, and help them to maximise their earnings from the company’s lending products. He will also be advising other brokerage firms on how they can more effectively assist credit-challenged private car buyers.

David Challinor, SMF managing director, said he was delighted that customers would now be able to benefit from the skills and expertise of a senior-level finance industry professional. Mr McGuire, he added, was joining SMF at an especially exciting time as the company continued to cement its reputation as a leading provider of non-standard lending.

Earlier this year, SMF launched a customer application platform, which has reduced its online credit decision times to less than 10 seconds.
