
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) saw its European sales increase 8.7% year-on-year to 88,000 vehicles, and increased its market share to 7.9%.
In the first two months of 2017, FCA sold approximately 172,000 vehicles, achieving an 11.8% year-on-year increase, achieving its largest increase in Germany, of 18.4%. The group also saw sales rises in of 6% in France, 7.2% in Italy, and 7.2% in Spain.
By brand, Fiat sold the most, posting sales of 65,800 vehicles in February, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%, and reaching market share of 5.9%.
The brand, like the group, saw increased sales in Germany in particular where they rose by 18.1% year-on-year in February. Spanish sales of Fiat cars were up 16.9%, France 7.3%, and up 6.1% in Italy over the same period.
Of FCA’s brands, Alfa Romeo saw the largest percentage increase in European sales, with numbers increasing 23.5% year-on-year to 6,300 in February, and 27.2% in the year to date.
Alfa Romeo saw a 77% year-on-year increase in German sales, and 18.8% growth in the UK in February 2017. The Lancia Chrysler brand’s European sales increased 5.3% year-on-year to approximately 7,300 vehicles.
Jeep’s European sales saw the largest increase in Switzerland, rising 35.2% year-on-year in February, while pan-European results were largely unchanged from the year prior, up just 0.7%.
Maserati sold 718 vehicles in February, and 1,723 for the year-to-date.
