The collaboration aims to optimise Merchants’ short-term fleet management by leveraging Ridecell’s advanced Ridecell 360 fleet solutions.
In a statement, Merchants Fleet confirmed that its decision to implement Ridecell 360 is part of a broader effort to enhance operational efficiency and productivity within its growing short-term leasing division. The company highlighted that since the partnership began less than a year ago, Ridecell has fully integrated multiple systems, boosting employee productivity and improving client satisfaction.
“At Merchants, our goal is to lead the fleet management industry through innovation and superior service,” said Brad Burgess, Interim co-CEO of Merchants Fleet. “By partnering with Ridecell, we’re able to streamline our operations and scale our short-term fleet like never before.”
Merchants’ short-term leasing division serves corporate fleets, last-mile delivery services, seasonal businesses, and mobile service providers. The fleet primarily consists of light-duty vehicles such as vans and trucks, with rental periods ranging from a few weeks to a year.
As demand surged, Merchants sought a solution to streamline workflows and enable quicker responses to client needs, ultimately choosing Ridecell to facilitate these improvements, the statement said.

By GlobalDataBurgess highlighted the operational benefits of the partnership, noting that the Ridecell platform helps integrate data from multiple systems, enabling better decision-making. For example, the system automates vehicle remarketing decisions based on predefined rules, reducing manual processes previously handled through spreadsheets. “This level of automation not only reduces manual labour but also allows Merchants Fleet to quickly adapt to changing market conditions,” Burgess added.
Ridecell’s automation platform enhances efficiency by using business rules to improve scalability, streamline operations, and allow Merchants to deliver exceptional value to clients. The platform processes large volumes of fleet data, automating asset management with real-time diagnostics to keep vehicles performing at their best. It also supports transportation logistics by tracking vehicle status throughout the fleet’s lifecycle, from deployment to maintenance, ensuring smooth coordination.
“Merchants Fleet is at the forefront of the mobility revolution, and we are thrilled to support their vision with our fleet orchestration technology,” said Aarjav Trivedi, CEO of Ridecell. He added that Ridecell’s platform is designed to integrate with existing systems and provide a unified view of fleet operations, enabling Merchants to scale without the usual growing pains.
