MG Motor UK has rolled out an online aftersales dealer portal, providing customers with relevant information on parts, invoicing, marketing and aftersales performance.

A range of aftersales functions has been addressed and improved with the system, including parts pricing information, dispatch lead times and product codes. Digital invoicing has been introduced, providing both the dealer and the customer with a digital service record for future reference.

The portal is also connected to a live and centralised parts database, providing customers with the most up-to-date information without having to contact a workshop.

“Customer retention is a key priority for our brand and the launch of this digital platform ensures our dealers are fully supported and equipped,” said Harvey France, head of aftersales and parts at MG Motor UK. “Fast and efficient processing means responding to customer enquiries in a far more efficient way, meanwhile dealers will be able to track their parts and accessories performance against individual plans.”

Customers will also benefit from a full digital service record of checks and maintenance. When a customer visits an MG dealer for a service, the details are logged on the platform.

“The live parts database now allows service departments to instantly assess how soon a customer’s vehicle can be repaired and returned to them,” continued France.  “While the introduction of the system is directly helpful for dealers, it will provide our customers with complete transparency and easily accessible information about their car provided by their dealer.”

The company also recently announced 754 new car registrations in January – an increase of 59% in 2018. Daniel Gregorious, head of sales and marketing at MG Motor UK, said: “January was another record-breaking month for us, and we’re delighted that more and more customers are recognising the value-for-money that MG offers.

“We’re looking forward to giving our dealers more new models to fill their showrooms, including our very first electric car, the MG ZS EV which will launch in September.”
