Volvo Car UK has announced a raft of appointments in its internal sales operation team, reshuffling many existing employees, and creating three roles.

The car manufacturer aims to increase its UK sales by 30% to 60,000 by 2020, after sales grew 7% year-on-year in 2016 to 46,696 cars.

Chris Francis has been moved to the newly-created role of national sales process performance manager. Francis previously served as Volvo UK’s regional sales development manager for London and the South East.

Jake Quail will take up a sales analyst role, moving from the marketing team, while Mark Slack will join the sales operations team as regional sales development manager for the south of England.

Steve Martin will join Volvo Car UK from Renault, to serve as regional sales development manager for the midlands. He has previously worked ay Honda and Jaguar Land Rover in the United Arab Emirates. Martin's predecessor, Matt Barker, will have responsibility for the north of England and North Wales.

David Metherall regional sales development manager for North England and East Midlands will become senior regional sales development manager. The role of regional sales development manager for the south west of England and South Wales is yet to be filled.

Matt Galvin, head of retail sales, said: “With a series of new appointments and the restructuring of our existing team, we have an internal sales team with the skills, experience and appetite to focus and support our retail network.”
