A total of £5.31m-worth of vehicles on finance were recovered through the Finance & Leasing Association’s Vehicle Recovery Scheme in November, down from the record-breaking £5.63m recovered in October.

Despite this slight drop, which ends a run of successive record-breaking results, the amount recovered still surpasses any other previous month before October.

The scheme, run in conjunction with the ACPO Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service and HPI Crushwatch, recorded 6,552 enquires in November, which resulted in 711 successful vehicle recoveries.

Both of these numbers are below the figures recorded in October however the ratio of successful enquiries-to-recoveries, known as ‘hits’, rose to 10.9%.

For the third month in a row, the Metropolitan police force recovered the highest total value of recoveries, with £2.6m worth of vehicles on finance recovered.

With 121 cars recovered, Vauxhall was the most recovered marque, and the Astra was the most recovered model.
