As part of the move, the online classified platform has added functionality to recognise a car’s license plate from a photograph taken on the phone, and automatically check the vehicle’s history when it is added to a dealer’s listings.

Phill Jones, managing director of Motors.co.uk, said: “Our day-to-day conversations with dealers reveal how important the smartphone has become to running their business. While we have had a brilliant response from dealers who use AutoEdit GO via a mobile browser, we felt the next natural step was to build its own app.

“Now dealers can take photographs of their latest vehicles and register them to their listings faster than ever before, saving them time and money. We will continue to collaborate with and we will continue to collaborate with them to make sure we develop solutions that help improve their efficiency.”

The app is free for Motors.co.uk AutoEdit users, and can be used on iPhones and iPads.
