Former DWF partner Joanne Davis has joined Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) as its new head of legal.

She will be responsible to guide VWFS through its initial FCA application, as well as to help drive the company’s legal expertise.

Davis was a partner in the DWF’s Banking and Finance team and led the specialist area of asset and consumer finance for three and a half years, according to her Linked:In profile.

DWF confirmed that Davis has left the company and that Julia Williams, head of consumer and asset finance, will take over Davis’ duties, while a source from VWFS confirmed that Davis would be joining the captive lessor.

Davis worked as head of asset finance and regulatory at Shoosmiths for nearly four years until 2011; prior to that she was a partner and head of credit and asset finance at BPE Solicitors, according to her Linked:In profile. Davis is also a founding fellow of the Leasing Foundation.

A spokesman from VWFS told Leasing Life: "We are delighted she is on board and look forward to her expert contribution to our business moving forwards."
