Vauxhall and Chevrolet finance provider, GMAC UK, has launched its Vauxhall Finance Award of Excellence at Cardiff University, providing the winning student with an annual bursary of £1,000 for the remainder of their degree.
The award also offers the opportunity to undertake a placement within the finance house.

The inaugural winner was Tamara Beach, a second year undergraduate at Cardiff University in Accounting and Finance.
Commenting on the new award, Ed Paulat, managing director of GMAC UK, said: "The Vauxhall Finance Award of Excellence is our latest initiative offering Welsh graduates the opportunity to experience a professional career in financial services first hand. The scheme encourages new entrants into the financial services industry and inspires the next generation of professionals to work within the Welsh sector."
As well as the award, GMAC are participants in the Welsh Financial Graduate programme, which offers paid work experience for two years in the financial services industry, plus the chance to study for a Masters in Financial Services Management at the University of Wales.
GMAC said it was keen to improve the professional services capabilities of South Wales, and that the award representing a "new ongoing relationship" with Cardiff University.
