Assuming the role during a pivotal transformation in the industry, Levin emphasised the challenges and opportunities of transitioning from conventional combustion engines to zero-emission powertrains, including battery-electric and hydrogen-powered technologies. He called the shift “a monumental challenge” requiring the reimagination of the entire ecosystem, encompassing suppliers, customers, energy providers, grid operators, and policymakers.

Levin stressed the need for forward-thinking and pragmatic policies to support this transition. “Bold, visionary targets are essential, but they must be paired with enabling conditions and long-term incentives to create stability and drive investment,” he said. He also urged policymakers to align regulatory frameworks at both European and national levels to ensure a coherent and supportive environment for the industry.

ACEA’s Commercial Vehicle Board comprises the CEOs of major manufacturers, including DAF Trucks, Daimler Truck, Ford Trucks, Iveco Group, MAN Truck & Bus, Scania, and Volvo Group. Under Levin’s leadership, the board aims to navigate the unprecedented challenges of the industry’s transition while maintaining its global competitiveness.
