The Funding Corporation (TFC), the sub-prime car finance provider, has created a work placement opportunity for local student George Slater in its auction department in partnership with the University of Chester’s work-based learning initiative.
TFC, nominated a ‘local hero’ for its charity work last year, has supported the project for the past two years and has previously helped students studying subjects with commercial applications.

David Challinor, managing director of TFC, said: "A work placement such as this can turn abstract figures into a real-time demonstration of how sound financial management helps pay people’s wages, funds a firm’s growth, and underwrites profit."
TFC was labelled "One to Watch" by Best Companies, who compile the list of 100 Best Small Companies to Work For, and has a history of developing talent within ACF Car Finance, the used-vehicle retail arm of TFC, taking on five teenagers for their national apprentice scheme in January.
