Arval UK’s partnership with Vodafone UK is enabling the telecoms provider to fully electrify its 1,000-strong vehicle fleet by 2026 – a year ahead of schedule.
The collaboration, which began in 2019, has supported Vodafone’s transition to battery electric vehicles (BEVs) through cost analysis, manufacturer engagement, and employee education initiatives.

Craig Login, Property Contract Manager at Vodafone UK, said the company’s progress is the result of “a determined electrification strategy… and demands from drivers for zero emissions options,” adding that Arval’s involvement had been “crucial” to winning staff support.
When Vodafone first introduced BEVs to its fleet in 2019, just 16% of vehicles were fully electric and 29% were petrol hybrids. By next year, the fleet will be entirely BEVs, with plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) phased out in 2023.
Arval UK also developed a BEV salary sacrifice scheme for Vodafone employees in 2023, resulting in more than 300 vehicles being delivered to staff and backed by new high-power charging facilities at all Vodafone offices.
Huw Mellor, Business Manager at Arval UK, called the partnership “one of the most rewarding we’ve been involved in… The speed with which full electrification has been achieved is undeniably impressive.”
