Geotab has acquired the commercial operations of Verizon Connect’s telematics business in the UK, Ireland, Italy, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Australia, according to a press release.
The transaction covers sales and commercial teams only; Verizon Connect’s product, engineering and other non-sales functions were not included.

The deal brings more than 400 former Verizon Connect employees into Geotab’s commercial organization and is intended to strengthen the company’s presence in key international markets, with particular emphasis on small and mid-sized fleets.
Geotab said the additional in-market teams will be integrated under the direction of Matthew Kassel, Senior Vice-President, Strategic Acquisitions and Integration. “This acquisition marks a pivotal moment for Geotab and the connected vehicle industry,” said Neil Cawse, Founder, President and CEO of Geotab.
In a statement, Geotab described the acquisition as a means to extend its channel and local support capabilities, and to increase access to its telematics platform, analytics and AI-driven services for customers previously served by Verizon Connect’s sales operations. The integration is effective immediately; Geotab said customers of Verizon Connect in the affected countries will continue to receive telematics services during the transition.
This transaction does not alter Verizon Connect’s product or engineering operations, which remain separate. Geotab said the move aligns with its strategy to grow commercial reach and deliver localised sales and support for fleets.
