A survey by Voxpopuk.com on behalf of an online retailer found
that the majority of respondents said that the current credit
crunch would not put them off buying big-ticket items – such as a
car.

Asked whether they were “currently more likely to put off any
big purchases such as cars etc. because you are worried about the
effects of the credit crunch”, 55 per cent of respondents said that
they would not be deterred. However, 33 per cent said the credit
crunch made them less likely to splash out, with 11 per cent
undecided. The survey also found that 48 per cent said the
crunch would not affect their wider spending habits.
