to internet for a variety of services, according to a survey by
Lombard Vehicle Management.
Customers preferred phone calls to online methods for finding out
quotes, queries, information and ordering vehicles.
Although 84 per cent of respondents were optimistic about internet
expansion in the fleet industry, two thirds agreed that a phone
call was easier than trying to navigate websites.
The report outlined how although slightly over half (56 per cent)
were comfortable conducting research online, it was more reassuring
to speak to someone before making commitments.
Head of Lombard Vehicle Management, Rob Bailey said: “It is clear
that although the internet is a growing and in some areas already
vital tool for fleet management, its use needs to be carefully
considered when delivering services to customers.”
