Inchcape has issued a profit warning for
2008 and 2009, while Pendragon is reportedly in talks with its
bankers in order to avoid breaching its banking covenants.

Inchcape is to cut 1,900 staff worldwide, as it is hit by a global
downturn in sales – even in previously buoyant markets such as
Russia.
