ALD Automotive has launched ALD Carmarket – a digital remarketing platform offering ex-lease vehicles to dealers.

Following a trial with a small number of UK dealers, ALD gained sufficient feedback to help shape the format of the service. The platform will feature a number of different ways to purchase a vehicle, including fixed price, auction, sealed bid and a countdown price drop. ALD said the preferred method among dealers is an auction with a ‘buy it now’ option.

Cars and LCVs will be listed with photographs, service history, options and inspection reports. Buyers can filter vehicles by make, age, mileage and gearbox type.

Invoices are issued digitally, with no additional buyer or admin fees.

“With ALD Carmarket we aim to make the buying process as straight forward and hassle free as possible,” said Gareth Jones, digital remarketing manager at ALD Automotive.

“It has already proven successful in Europe, and UK buyers have been quick to sign up and take advantage. One thing we are very keen to get over is that we’re not just a screen, we have a dedicated team behind it who are in regular contact with buyers and help to give ALD Carmarket the human touch.”

Earlier this year, ALD s confirmed changes to its board of directors, following the announcement that UK managing director Mel Dawson would be leaving his role.

Philippe Heim was appointed as director, while Karine Destre-Bohn, Patricia Lacoste and Michael Masterson have had their directorships renewed. The company also announced the ratifications of the co-optation of Bernardo Sanchez-Incera and Laura Carrere as directors.
