Alfa Romeo has said its week-long promotion of an additional deposit contribution on the MiTo and Giulietta was "well received".
Called the SBK Sales Event, the promotion added a £500 deposit contribution on all MiTo and Giulietta models ordered between 20 and 26 May and registered by 31 May.
The offer adds £500 to the existing £1,500 deposit contribution on the Giulietta, when bought on PCP, available from £199 a month with 0% APR representative until the end of June. Likewise, it adds the same amount to the existing £500 deposit contribution on the MiTo, when bought on PCP, HP or cash, available until the end of June from £139 a month.
A spokesman for the brand, part of the Fiat Group and with finance operated through FGA Capital, said the event had "absolutely" brought a sales increase, although a percentage figure has yet to be confirmed by its logistics department.
Both the MiTo and Giulietta models on offer are "designed to bring conquest customers" to the Italian marque with the aid of the discount.
"We already have very low monthly payments and APRs," said the spokesman. "However, not everyone coming to the brand necessarily has a high-value part exchange."
To this end, Alfa believes lowering deposit costs "reinforces the notion that our cars are fantastic value for money with extremely competitive finance terms available.
"Whether it is cash or finance, we want to give customers a strong offer. Given the state of the economy, it’s very important that we have strong finance offers in place," added the spokesman. "Having a customer on a plan where we need to speak to them further along the ownership cycle is clearly beneficial."
