Vehicle remarketer Aston Barclay has launched an app for its buyers to allow them to connect to used vehicle stock through their phones.

The Buyer App was released on both Apple and Google’s app markets, and will allow users to search stock by colour and fuel, and provide access to video and audio.

The second phase of the app will detect buyers when they enter an auction and send a message about relevant stock that will be available in the sale.  Users will also be able to see each car’s Aston Barclay and NAMA condition grades.

Aston Barclay said visits to its websites through mobile devices had grown recently, increasing to 48.7% in June. Of the mobile entries, 69.2% came from an Apple product.

Stewart Ford, Aston Barclay group’s IT director said: “Surveying our buyers they said an app would be incredibly useful in helping speed up their connectivity with relevant stock.”

Ford said Aston Barclay planned to launch an app for vendors in December, which would allow vendors to target buyers using media such as video messages.
