A Porsche Retail sale at BCA Blackbushe auto auction in January set new records for the vendor, with an entry of 80 vehicles generating proceeds of £1.9m.

Ade Smith, group director for Porsche Retail Group, said: “BCA delivered massive buying power for this record-breaking sale [8 January] and the demand from the buyers at BCA Blackbushe, and online, was exceptional.

“This new benchmark of £1.9m sale proceeds underlines that a winning combination of high-quality stock and a focused remarketing programme will achieve great results,” he added.

546 online buyers competed via the BC Buyer app and BCA Live Online with a packed auction lane for a selection of luxury cards. Among the strong sellers was the 16/16 registered Porsche Macan 3.0 Diesel sold for £36,000 at 21,000 miles and a 16/16 registered Porsche 911 PDK Auto, sold for £62,200.

In total, 79 vehicles sold for £1.9 million, generating an average value above £25,000 and an average of 99.5% of Cap Clean. Porsche Retail has an exclusive deal with BCA to manage the remarketing of its part-exchange vehicles, with a sale of high-end luxury vehicles at BCA Blackbushe every Wednesday.

Suzanne Spencer, major account manager for the BCA, said: “Our customers know that Porsche Retail offer an exceptional choice of luxury, prestige and performance vehicles and these sales generate a genuine buzz with our buyers. The used car market has started strongly at BCA in 2020 with significant demand for prestige and performance vehicles.”

BCA recently recorded record sales above 26,000 in the second week of January, starting from 5 January.

The group staged a full programme of sales across its network, with competition from the BCA Live Online and BCA Buyer app bidders promoting good conversion rates, the group said in a statement.

BCA said it sold over 7,000 vehicles in one day (8 January) for the first time on record at an 86% conversion rate. Auction centres around BCA’s 24 strong UK network reported record results, with BCA Blackbushe – the largest auction centre in Europe – selling a record 1,600-plus vehicles on the day.
