CAP appoints MD, accelerated growth plan

Leeds-based vehicle valuations, technical data and business services provider CAP has appointed Matt Thompson as its marketing director.

Leeds-based vehicle valuations, technical data and business services provider CAP has appointed Matt Thompson as its marketing director.

Thompson most recently held the position of group marketing director at Trader Media Group, publisher of Auto Trader. Prior to this role, Thompson held various senior marketing positions with automotive specialists, including ERF Ltd, National Tyres & Autocare, Perkins Engines and Lucas Automotive.

The addition of Thompson comes as part of a workforce expansion of over 30% since CAP was acquired by investment specialist Montagu Private Equity, in May this year.

Ian Rendle CEO of CAP said: "Matt Thompson is a rare beast in our industry, in that he combines an industry-wide wealth of knowledge with a fantastic track record on growth and the kind of strategic vision that CAP needs to realise its own accelerated growth ambitions."

An interview with Philip Nothard, retail and consumer valuation editor at CAP Automotive, will be published in the October issue of Motor Finance magazine.
