Macclesfield-based car finance provider Car Loan 4U has appointed Katy Lomax as marketing director and Martin Jones as chief technology officer, as part of an ongoing expansion strategy.

Following an £8m investment injection earlier this year by venture capital company Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), the recruitments come as part of the resulting plans for "significant expansion."

Lomax previously was responsible for internet provider Plusnet’s brand and marketing strategy from its inception, while Jones joined from posts at lastminute.com and, before that, Auto Trader, where he assisted the shift from print to online.

In their new posts, Lomax will be tasked with implementing a full marketing strategy for Car Loan 4U, while Jones will lead the company’s technical strategy, including innovation and system improvement.

James Wilkinson, chief executive officer of Car Loan 4U, described both recruits as "insanely passionate" about what the company is currently trying to achieve and said he very much looked forward to working with them.

"Martin’s extensive understanding of mobile and digital technologies will be a strong asset to Car Loan 4U and underpins our ambition to expand our platform for growth," he explained, and added: "Katy joins us with extensive experience in consumer marketing and will and will oversee the company’s presence both online and offline."
