Cox Automotive has unveiled the latest version of its Movex app, improving the speed of monitoring vehicle movements for UK dealers.
Launched on 22 March 2021, the app aims to help dealers to react in real-time to industry changes, with real-time status notification and instant proof of collection and delivery.
Cox Automotive has also enhanced security through the inclusion of fingerprint and facial recognition technology.
Mark Shearer, director of Movex, said: “Covid-19 has accelerated the use of digital platforms across the automotive industry, and as a digital business, it is imperative that Movex capitalises on this trend.
Cox Automotive recently confirmed the acquisition of Codeweavers, a provider of commerce solutions and finance software for manufacturers, retailers, and lenders.
Both moves form a part of Cox Automotive’s strategy to double the size of its operations by 2034 and stand as number one operator in the market.
As an increasing number of firms across the industry are pushing to advance their digital strategies, the pandemic has shown the importance of having a compelling digital retail offering and the need for innovative online technology solutions has accelerated over the last year.
Shearer continued: “Cox Automotive believes passionately in the power and convenience of digital tools and that is why it is so important that we continue to innovate in this area to make it as simple and intuitive as possible for customers to use Movex.”
Movex was acquired by Manheim in 2015 and has delivered over 500,000 vehicle movements since its inception.
Having been integrated into Cox Automotive Vehicle Solutions division, is expected to facilitate roughly 150,000 further vehicle movements in 2021 and support thousands of dealerships with access to the UK’s largest vehicle movement marketplace.
Cox Automotive is the world’s largest automotive service organisation. Cox Automotive brands in Europe include Manheim, Manheim Express, RMS, Dealer Auction, NextGear Capital, Modix and eVA Valuations & Appraisals.
