Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK has announced that Steve Zanlunghi, its former managing director, has been appointed president and chief executive officer of its Australian division.

Zanlunghi, who was also head of Jeep Brand – Europe, Middle East and Africa, took up the position on 1 August, and returned to his native Australia.

Joining Fiat Chrysler in 1997, Zanlunghi started in Chrysler’s customer centre, before taking up a number of senior executive positons in the United States and across Europe.

Zanlunghi became Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ UK managing director and chairman of the group’s Ireland division in July 2012. He was named head of Jeep Brand – Europe, Middle East and Africa in February 2015.

Mike Manley, Asia Pacific chief operating officer, said: “I’m delighted to be making this announcement, as it further strengthens our APAC team and sees one of our senior executives appointed to lead a key market for us,”

“Steve is not only a capable leader, but he also had a good understanding of the Australian marketplace.”
