Jim McCaffrey has joined Black Horse as the company’s director of product, proposition and business enablement.

Although new to Black Horse, McCaffery has worked at Lloyds Banking Group for several years, including a period in its insurance division, where he held a similar role. More recently he led Lloyds’ Financial Planning and Retirement Programme.

In his new role, he will lead the delivery of the Black Horse strategy and initiatives to support the growth of the business within this. This will include product development and the ongoing investment in the digital capability of Black Horse.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Jones, Black Horse managing director, said: “Jim’s role will be key to driving forward our propositions as we continue to grow and develop Black Horse. Having worked with him for a number of years previously, I know Jim’s expertise will allow us to further develop our business and continue to deliver excellent results.

“Although our core purpose remains helping dealerships stay central to the car buying journey through our relationship based approach, we’re constantly adapting to changing dealer and customer demands – much like the industry as a whole – and I expect this change to my leadership team to strengthen our approach to doing so. We’ll also soon be announcing a new leader for our fleet and wholesale stocking team in the coming weeks as we evolve our strategy in this area.”
