Peter Cottle, managing director of
consultancy Torque Finance, has been appointed as head of business
development at BEN, the automotive industry charity.
Cottle is a former senior director
at Bank of Scotland Corporate, where he was responsible for retail
and wholesale motor finance business.
BEN provides practical, emotional
and financial support for those who work, or have worked, in the
automotive and related industries, as well as their dependents. It
also runs five care centres for the elderly.

Formerly the senior compliance
controller at Nationwide, Forster will be responsible for ensuring
the law firm adheres to codes established by industry bodies, and
for client service level agreements.
She will develop systems for
compliance management; conduct audits, including those for third
party suppliers; and liaise closely with the firm’s central quality
and risk team.

AUCTIONS
Nigel Paling has
become centre manager at Manheim Auctions in Leeds following Mark
Taylor’s appointment to Manheim Auctions, Colchester.
Paling will be responsible for all
vehicle auction activity on the Leeds site, including cars, vans,
trucks and plant.
FLEET ALLIANCE
Fleet
Alliance has appointed Steve Lane as its new
business development manager to work on 50-plus fleets.
He has more than 20 years’
experience in the automotive, fleet and corporate finance sectors,
including spells at Lex Vehicle Leasing, Bank of Scotland Vehicle
Finance and Daimler Fleet Management.
VOLKSWAGEN GROUP
IRELAND
Simon Elliott, currently director
of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the UK, is to take up the
position of managing director of Volkswagen Group Ireland in
August.
Lane succeeds Paul Willis, who
moves to a senior role within the Volkswagen Group in China.
Until a new director is appointed, Robin Woolcock will lead
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in the UK.
