PSA, Mazda and Suzuki have all joined the growing number of manufacturers offering scrappage schemes.

PSA’s offers last until the end of the year, and cover the Peugeot, Citroën and DS brands. Pre-2011 vehicles can be redeemed under the scheme towards new Euro 6 compliant vehicles.

The amount consumers receive varies depending on the vehicle they buy. In the case of Peugeot, the amount starts at £1,750 for a 108 Supermini and going up to £6,000 for a 508. The scheme for commercial vehicles, meanwhile, ranges from £3,000 for a Blipper panel van to £7,000 for the Boxer range, and can be used on top of a VAT discount.

Citroën’s deals run throughout December, and also apply to pre-2011 cars. They offer from £1,750 for models C1 and C3 to £4,700 for a Grand C4 Picasso. Incentives for vans start at £3,000 for a Nemo and reach £7,000 for the Relay series.

Finally, a new, basic version DS3 comes with £3,500 worth of scrap bonus, while a top-of-the-range DS5 Executive will get £5,500 in bonus.

Mazda’s and Suzuki’s schemes apply to vehicles registered before 2010, and can only go towards car emitting less than 130g/km of CO2.

Mazda’s incentives will run until 31st December. They range from £2,500 for the Mazda 2 to £3,000 for the Mazda 3 and Mazda 6.

Suzuki’s scheme only lasts for September, and incentives rank among the most modest. Cashback goes from £1,000 for a Celerio to £2,000 for a Vitara.

Other major brands that have recently announced scrappage schemes include Ford, FCA, Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault, BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
