Startline Motor Finance has opened its doors to dealers as part of a ‘transparency initiative’ the independent lender has launched.
According to chief executive officer Paul Burgess, the company had arranged a number of visits for dealers to come and look at how the finance company operates.
Burgess added that he found expertise about motor finance varied widely from dealer to dealer and that some had gaps in their current knowledge about how finance companies operate that Startline could help them bridge.
Burgess said: “As an example, one dealer who visited us had an extensive understanding of the pure financial and marketing aspects of motor finance but not about underwriting.
“We explained our underwriting process in some detail and they came away with a much-enhanced view of the whole process.”
