fleets
A survey of small businesses has found that the majority of
companies running fleets of up to 100 units say that green fleet
issues are “important”, but that the majority of such businesses
have not backed up their environmental good intentions with any
hard cash.

Lombard Vehicle Management (LVM), which ran the survey, found that
56 per cent of SME respondents have not allocated any budget to
improving their fleets’ environmental profiles.
“The discrepancy between desire and actual commitment is reflected
in the fact that although 65 per cent profess to be ‘likely’ or
‘very likely’ to choose more environmentally sensitive vehicles,
only 26 per cent are equally likely to restrict user-choosers to
greener cars,” LVM said.
“For a small business, cost is always paramount and it is perhaps
unrealistic to expect them to adopt green fleet policies on a
widespread basis,” said LVM MD, Rob Bailey.
