Automotive services company Manheim has appointed Simon
Warrington as its new chief technology officer. Warrington will
join the Manheim group board and is to review the group’s
technology strategy in the UK and Europe. His previous experience
includes a position as global vice-president for packaging company
Linpac and before that, as European chief information officer of GE
Commercial Finance Fleet Services.

Aston Barclay
Aston Barclay has appointed Tim Hudson as its new managing
director following Les Scarborough’s retirement. Hudson joins the
car auctioneer after spending eight years at LeasePlan, most
recently as managing director of LeasePlan International and
previously as operations director and commercial director at
LeasePlan UK. Before that, he held senior roles at Lex Vehicle
Leasing and Nissan Finance.

Manheim’s remarketing division has also strengthened its
motorbike auction activity with the appointment of Terry Willis as
a dedicated sales manager. Willis has 10 years’ experience at all
levels of motorbike retailing. He will be in charge of developing
new products and services, including the recently launched Bike
Van, a motorbike collection and delivery service to help dealers
with their part exchanges, overage stock and stock rotation.
LeasePlan
International fleet management company LeasePlan has appointed
Brian Barber as senior vice-president of sales for its US branch.
Barber has 17 years of industry experience, and previously held a
role as LeasePlan’s US national vice-president of client services.
According to the company, under Barber’s leadership LeasePlan’s
client retention has jumped to more than 98%, and client
satisfaction has increased by 19% since his appointment in
2007.
Mazda Motors UK
Mazda Motors UK has promoted Claire Andrews to marketing
director effective 1 October, 2010. Andrews, who was previously
senior marketing manager at Mazda, will report to the company’s MD
Jeremy Thomson. She originally started her career with Mazda
following a move from Lotus Cars in 2002.
CAP
CAP, the UK provider of residual values data, has appointed John
Watts as senior editor in charge of forecasting pricing for vans,
trucks and motorcycles. Watts joined CAP in 1999, having already
spent more than 20 years in the van and truck industry.
