ACF Car Finance, the used-vehicle retail arm of subprime lender The Funding Corporation, has taken on the first five teenagers for its national apprentice scheme.
The 12-month programme offers the recruits, who will begin on the ACF forecourt, a VCQ / NVQ Level 2 qualification, with the option to progress to a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to two A-levels) and the opportunity to be fast-tracked into management.

The scheme has been structured by national training provider Remit and has been commended by the Institute of the Motor Industry, which has also recently endorsed three training courses run by GMAC UK.
Norman Beaumont, ACF Car Finance sales and marketing director, said: "We want to fuel our growth by recruiting not just time-served personnel, but also those who can be trained in a sector which has seen considerable change in recent years."
