Mario Dolcezza, RAC head of dealer propositions, said: "Dealers who sell RAC-branded products such as warranties are allowed to use our brand but some are exceeding the rules that are in place as part of our commercial agreement with them."
Dolcezza added the company launched the BuySure initiative among dealers in January which set "definitive rules about using the brand". Those car retailers who were asked to change their use of the RAC name and logo but did not respond would see action taken against them.
