Chamberlain moves to Mercedes-Benz from Fiat Group Autos UK, where he was sales director. His CV includes 11 months as brand director at Seat Ireland, following roles as head of sales & marketing at Volkswagen Group Ireland, head of planning and head of luxury cars at Volkswagen UK.
Savage said the appointment would help "build momentum" following the brand’s 12.19% year-on-year growth in new registrations to 91,855 units in 2012, and 0.27-ppt jump in market share to 4.49%, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
On the back of the sales rise, Chamberlain will help promote Mercedes-Benz models scheduled for debut in 2013 including the CLA four-door coupé and additions to the E-Class and AMG ranges.
