French marque Renault has claimed its Captur crossover model has overtaken the Mini Countryman and Peugeot 2008 to hold the best residual value (RV) in the market.

The Expression+ 1.5 dCi 90 variant of the Captur, available at UK retail from 1 July, has been estimated by forecaster CAP to hold 43% of its value after three years or 60,000 miles of use.

While the 43% figure matches the Mini Countryman, Renault predicts it will lose between £4,000 and £6,000 less in depreciation.

Alongside the latest Clio and the Zoe, Renault’s retail-focused electric car, the Captur is seen as part of the brand’s revival by the manufacturer and its captive finance provider RCI Financial services and will be available on Renault’s 4+ package.
