Shabsogh, who joined the brand from Ford in 2007, will hold responsibility for sales, aftersales, marketing, fleet and supply chain activity. Hetherington, who joined from Toyota also in 2007, will manage long-term strategy, business processes, network capacity and customer experience.

The marque recorded a 24.27% year-on-year increase in new sales to 66,629 units in 2012 and a jump of 0.5ppts to a 3.26% market share.

On the back of this, Kia ended 2012 and began 2013 with a selection of investments in retail and finance including plans for a franchised outlet on the A4 corridor, moving Surrey headquarters to a space twice that of its current base, and a range of finance options, first on the Rio, then other models.
